Last night’s magick

I had a good night last night. I’m really proud of the progress I made in my craft and in myself. My husband and I had a really good conversation about it afterwards and I learned a lot. I definitely feel more encouraged to do more magik and confident in it’s success.

I used blood, tears, cayenne pepper, salt, water, smoke, and a mirror, along with the cards, rune, and a candle.

Spell craft in progress

I’m finally about to do some serious, well-thought out spell craft to cast tomorrow night. I’m still not done writing it.

It’s a spell to bring understanding, clarity, and peace to my mother, whom I no longer talk to because I’m trying to heal from the damage she inflicted on me.

I’ve already said everything I can to her, she has it in writing, but she still emails me once a month trying to get me to hit the “forgive mum” button. I’ve done what I can, it’s time for some magik.

I’m already planning on incorporating blood and tears, as well as elemental energy and sigil work, but I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/ideas? I think this is gonna end up being more like a three-part ritual?? I don’t use a lot of traditional magik, I just research my ingredients and go with what feels right, but I’m open to outside ideas and advice.

With Halloween and Samhain coming up, I want to push myself a little bit and delve a little farther into the areas of witchcraft and Satanism that i’ve been avoiding before now, either out of fear, intimidation, lack of energy, or just genuine laziness.

But idk what I wanna do. I’m already planning on spending some time in the graveyard, just to learn who’s there, but other than that… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk!

What are you doing to celebrate this year?

Card of The Day: Three of Swords

img_3168

More often than not this card is devastating to draw. With it’s grey, cloudy sky pelting down rain, and a heart with three swords thrust through it, it can be hard to find anything in this image that isn’t quintessentially “heartbreak.”

This card is specifically about the mess after a heartbreak, the pieces of yourself scattered everywhere. We’re reminded the need we have for ourselves, and for self-care. Only you can pick up the pieces of yourself and there is growth and self-discovery in the process. Here is an opportunity to examine yourself in a new way. It will be painful, and you can’t put the pieces of yourself back together perfectly, but what a splendid opportunity for self-creation and self-recognition!

The swords represent intellect and the number three often points to growth. It may seem odd that this card isn’t in the cups, until we consider how much intellectual growth really goes into recovering from a heartbreak. It takes real, deliberate intellectual effort and work to heal your heart after it’s broken and really determine where the pieces go.

What opportunities has your heartbreak opened up for you? What could you still learn from your heartbreak?

Card of The Day: Six of Swords

img_3172

Every time I see this card I can’t help but see a mother and her child escaping abuse. There is a heaviness to this card, with the grey sky, the turned backs, and the huddled up figures. But there is also hope; they’re moving, making process, getting somewhere.

This card is about finding success in motion or change, whether you’re escaping sorrow or seeking harmony, you are taking a journey. This is the action of your self-reflection; the change you know you must create. It’s the hard choice you know you must make if you’re ever going to get where you want to be.

The swords represent intellect and the six often represents advancement or a journey. The six also is the resolution from five, in this case; retreat after conflict; intellectually the best choice, but not the most desired option.

Think about what you need to do to achieve your goals, or keep yourself safe and secure. Are there any hard questions you need to ask yourself? Is there something you know you must do that you’ve been hesitant to approach?

Educational Witchcraft RPG

i’m currently working on a little rpg that just teaches some of the basics of witchcraft.

I’m covering:

  • divination
  • BOS/Grimoires
  • Will/magik
  • The elements/four corners/tools
  • herbs
  • crystals
  • spirits/spirit guides
  • meditation/grounding/shielding
  • cleansing
  • lunar phases
  • astrology
  • spell craft
  • necromancy
  • shadow work
  • thought forms

I’m an atheist eclectic witch, I don’t practice wicca, and I don’t have any deities, so I’m not really comfortable covering those topics, but is there anything you think I might be missing?

Card of The Day: Nine of Cups

img_3176

Make a wish! This card is all about wish fulfillment. Maybe you’ve been holding a wish in your heart for ages, or one just came to mind; now is the time to make your wish. You have all the resources you need to make your wish come true, and either now is an excellent time to act, or your actions will soon come to fruition; either way, the universe has granted you success.

This is also a card of physical and material pleasure, well-being, and drunkenness! Maybe this is what you need right now; focus on getting some “you” time, whatever that is for you. Light up a bunt, watch tv in your undies, order pizza; INDULGE

The cups are the suit of emotions and while the number 9 generally refers to luck/fate, and fulfillment, it can also point to the achievement or gaining of wisdom. The Nine of Cups may be an indication that you’ve achieved some emotional wisdom or understanding, or you’re close to achieving such a break through.

Whatever your heart has longed for, now is a good time to focus on it, whether that means getting it, or learning from it, you must meditate on that thought.

Learning The Court Cards

img_3199

I recently determined to get a firm grasp on the court cards, as they are the last ones to really stump me. To do so, I pulled all the court cards from my deck and separated them by kind (pages with pages, etc) and examined each group to determine what the cards in each group have in common with each other.

The progression of one card relating to and moving into the next, as we see with the Fool’s journey and the rest of the minor arcana, also relates to the court cards.

We start with the Page, the manifestation and embodiment of her suit; creativity is born into a new and eager form in the page of wands, for example. She is young and curious, examining and exploring herself as creativity, while also being an expression of creativity itself. The Knight is his suit in action. In the case of The Knight of Swords, he is the practice of intellect. He is determined to finish his task/journey and shows discipline in his field. The knight also represents travel and messages. Once the Knight accomplishes his quest, he becomes the Queen; the examination and contemplation of the outcome of her suit in action (the result of the Knight’s quest). She enjoys herself and the benefits the action provided her. Once she has determined it to be good, smoothed all the edges, she becomes the King; the complete maturation of his suit. He enjoys the final result and benefits of all his previous hard work. He sits upon his thrown, secure in himself and in his wisdom, sure of his accomplishments and abilities. The King does not doubt himself.
